Tank Tankersley, CFP®
Tank is uniquely equipped to lead a team of professionals to extend investment and unique financial planning counsel to individuals and organizations. Combining knowledge with almost 30 years of experience in helping others navigate through the many financial choices they face. Tank leads in bringing order and direction to his client’s decision-making process. His team effectively translates one’s goals into custom-tailored solutions.
In 1992 Tank began his financial career with Colonial Mortgage Co. as Head Bond Trader where he traded approximately $7 billion of bonds. He advanced to Investment Officer with Colonial Bank where his primary responsibility was investment sales. Tank continued his career in the investment management and financial planning business, and in 2005 Tank joined Wachovia Wealth Management in Birmingham. After Wells Fargo merged with Wachovia, Tank became its Wealth Advisor and dealt with the institution’s most affluent clients. He joined PNC in July 2012 as Alabama’s Wealth Management Director and served as Senior Relationship Manager. In August of 2018 he joined BMSS Wesson Wealth Solutions.
Tank is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA®), and an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®). Tank is a two time graduate from Auburn University with a B.S. in Business – Finance in 1988 and received his M.B.A. in 1992. Prior to graduate school he worked for Congressman Bill Dickinson and was the Vice-Chairman of the Alabama Young Republicans. Tank has served as the President of the Auburn University MBA Advisory Board. Currently, Tank is the Vice President of the Birmingham Estate Planning Counsel and is a Board Member of Young Business Leaders, a ministry to professionals.
Tank is an elder at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He is married to Amy, and they have two wonderful daughters.
