Hey friend!
It’s important to know that SeedTime is funded by course sales, advertisements, and affiliate relationships. However, we have always recommended or endorsed only those products that we feel would be of value to readers.
Unlike so many “influencers” these days, we value reputation above a quick buck. We never have and never will just promote things to make a quick buck.
Just as an example to paint a clearer picture. Just last year we passed up an opportunity to earn over $100k by promoting a product that I was using and kind of liked, but just wasn’t completely sure about it yet. I hadn’t reached that point where I was telling my mom and sister about it, so I never told the SeedTime community about it.
The point is, I value my reputation and your trust far more than any amount of money. Trust takes a long time to earn in this era where almost everyone is blowing smoke and we hope to earn yours.
So, with that in mind, I just talk about what I use and love, and if it has a referral program, then I’ll use the link rather than leaving money on the table.
Additionally, if you use any of our referral links, those funds are going to fund the monthly giveaways that we are providing for those in the SeedTime community. So, ultimately, we both win. I get to give more away via giveaways (my top goal) and you get to win more by using our links.
Additionally, in some cases, using our link will actually get you a better deal than you can elsewhere (because we negotiated for it), but they will never be at your expense.
I like this plan, and I hope you do too.
Even though I use or have used 99% of the products/services that I recommend, it always helps when I hear the experiences of others. So, if you ever have an issue with anything I recommend, please let me know.
Some examples of Affiliate relationships that help fund this site are… Capital One 360, Rakuten, Amazon, Ebay, TradeKing. Each one of them are products or services that we recommend and they also have some sort of affiliate or referral program as well. These are what we love because we can help readers by pointing them to good resources and tools and help fund SeedTime giveaways in the process.
On the other hand when our opinions about products change we let it be known (knowing full well that it will reduce compensation). For example, we wrote about Cash Crate and continued to update the article as our opinions about it changed. We are well aware that earning the trust of our readers is far more valuable than the commission from few affiliate sales.
