Senior Editor Position
Position Overview
The Senior Editor will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of ALL articles published by SeedTime, EfficientBlogging, and other sites that we publish to.
Bob will be depending on you to ensure that SeedTime continues to regularly publish content on a consistent schedule and up to our quality standards.
What would it look like to be our Senior Editor?
- You would maintain our Editorial Calendar āā publishing 2-3 articles each week to our blog.
- You would make sure we are always 6 weeks ahead on finished content ready to post to the blog within 90 days of starting.
- You would review articles from writers to ensure it is great quality, on brand, correct, formatted for our site, optimized for Search Engines, optimized for Social Media, etc.
- You would proactively find unique subjects to talk about on the blog, experiments for us to run, and plan out those subjects on an editorial calendar.
- You would learn and execute a solid on-site SEO strategy (Keyword research for articles on the editorial calendar, interlinking between new/old articles and solid on-page SEO for new articles.)
- You would work with a designer to have graphics created for blog posts.
- You would review and publish articles on other big media sites that Bob writes for.
- You would work with Bob to come up with 5-10 new article ideas each month that would 1. benefit the audience and 2. help generate revenue.
- You would draft and schedule 3-5 emails (in Infusionsoft) each week that we send to various segments of our email list.
- You would write 1-2 thoroughly researched (and just downright awesome) articles with tons of screenshots each month.
- You would help consolidate multiple older articles into one longer one in a coherent fashion.
- You would lead our offsite content marketing efforts so that they produce 2,000 new leads every month by:
- Writing 1 guest post per week (1-2k words) for other sites by doing 20% original research and then using existing content and assets we have to put together world-class guest posts.
- Assisting in finding guest posting opportunities and developing a full content calendar that spans out 2 months.
- Discovering and brainstorming for off-site content marketing opportunities outside of guest posting (big media opps, etc).

- Might have a journalism background, but regardless has a great ability to write in a way that connects with readers.
- SomeoneĀ extremely organizedĀ and isĀ amazing at hitting deadlinesĀ and staying on target.
- Would not use fluff in their writing at all. They would think in steps, be able toĀ adopt my voiceĀ (ghostwriter) for occasional articles and write in their own style for non-ghost written articles.
- Understands personal finance, saving money, and to some extent blogging and what it takes to get out of debt. (Thatās our core subject matter so itās important to actually enjoy it.)
