So I recently got a new credit card and replaced my Sapphire Preferred that I have been using for over 5 years.
You can watch this video for details of why I switched…
Now their signup bonus is always changing, but regardless the 1.5% unlimited cashback with no annual fee still makes it a pretty great card.
And if you couple that with the fact that it works perfectly for our system that we use to travel for free, then this card currently gets the front position in my wallet.

More details about the Chase Freedom Unlimited
- No Annual Fee
- 0% Intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases
- Earn 3% cash back on all purchases in your first year up to $20,000 spent. After that earn unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases.
- No minimum to redeem for cash back
- Cash Back rewards do not expire as long as your account is open
The problem with using a credit card for just about everything to get a “free” vacation is that you are essentially giving up your privacy for all your purchases and helping ensure the end of cash and financial privacy.
Of course, we have to use credit cards for things like purchasing online, but whenever possible, we should use cash. The government, who can never get enough data on us, would love to eliminate cash and know everything we purchase, when, and where.
Thanks for the post.
Wonderful information, thanks for sharing such a great article.
Thanks,
Jay
Thanks a lots for sharing lots of knowledge in very simple and short words
Thanks once again Sir 🙏
Yes, but to travel for free, you are putting everything on your card. You are effectively surrendering your personal purchasing privacy for free travel. Cash has privacy. Not that I’m purchasing anything illegal, etc., but I don’t really care to have Corporate America monitor my spending and use this data, as well as sell it to anyone willing to pay for it. Nothing Corporate America would love more than to eliminate cash entirely. Then they could capture our total spending habits and target us in a million different ways. Not to mention spending cash tends to inhibit overspending.
