Earlier this year I listened to Andy Stanley’s ‘Balanced’ 6-part financial series for the second time. And I thought to myself, “I have got to find a way to share this with the readers.”
Having been in this whole Christian Personal Finance thing for a long time, I have read, seen, and heard a lot of teaching about how the Bible pertains to our finances. And I am not exaggerating when I say that this 6-part series is some of the best teaching (and most helpful) that I have come across.
I strongly encourage you to spend the next week and go through this series. No matter whether you are a beginner or well-versed in managing your money God’s way, I am very confident you will find it to be of value.
Each lesson is 30 minutes long, so if you really get inspired you can knock of the whole thing out in 3 hours.
Listen to it Now!
For the sake of convenience I am including the links to each part here, but you are also welcome to watch the videos on his site here as well.
Balanced Part 1 (Listen)
“Are you financially balanced? Do you know where your money goes each month? Do you and your spouse argue about money? Does your month last longer than your money? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, you may be financially unbalanced. In this series, Andy reveals the steps you need to take to achieve the freedom and contentment that comes with being financially balanced.”
Balanced Part 2 (Listen)
“What is your primary objective when it comes to your personal finances? For some it’s supporting a family; others strive to save as much as possible. For many, financial freedom is the finish line. What should your objective be when it comes to your money? What will bring you the most peace? Join Andy Stanley as he explores the Bible to find the answer. It just might surprise you.”
Balanced Part 3 (Listen)
“Auto leases, credit cards, student loans, and second mortgages take our money, our attention, and our freedom. In this message, Andy shares how to handle personal debt and takes a hard look at making the necessary corrections to get to where we need to be.”
Balanced Part 4 (Listen)
“Do you want less anxiety in the arena of your finances? Of course you do. But our culture teaches that your value is based on the accumulation of stuff. The more you amass before you die, the more successful it appears your life has been. Andy presents a different perspective – one that will keep you from buying into our culture’s lies.”
Balanced Part 5 (Listen)
“Do you struggle with discontentment? If you do, there’s a reason. In this message, Andy Stanley explains why your appetite for more never gets satisfied. Once you understand that, and apply the principles Andy presents, you’ll be able to find the contentment you desire.”
Balanced Part 6 (Listen)
“When it comes to personal finances, we often put ourselves first, and God usually gets our leftovers. But then to whom do we turn when we are having financial trouble? Yep! The person we’ve put last. Doesn’t make sense, does it? In the last of this 6-part series, Andy Stanley explains why it is in your best interest to re-prioritize your money. Using passages from the Old and New Testaments, he outlines a simple plan that will throw open the door to God’s involvement in your finances – a plan that will bring you the freedom and peace you desire.”
