What to do when all your hard work gets wrecked by unexpected financial challenges

An email came in asking a question on a very important topic: handling the disasters that hit when you’re in the process of getting your financial situation under better control, but haven’t yet reached paydirt. Donna asks: ‘… what about those times when I’m doing everything right – created the budget and staying on it, […]

7 ways God is working in your finances

Money is amoral, neither good or bad; how we handle it is the challenge. Therefore, we shouldn’t be surprised if a holy God wants to use money to guide us, challenge us, and improve us.

Job loss.  A lay off.  Fraud. Getting fired. Robbery.  Legal Issues. Credit card debt.  In a moment, any of these instantaneous events can shatter your financial plan. 14 quotes to help you stay out of debt

written by Jen | Saving Money

Staying out of debt (and then getting out of debt) can be hard. There is always something tempting us to spend our money… even when we don’t have money to spend. We need to remind ourselves that it is ok to NOT buy every new thing that is advertised. We can live with less and still […]

10 Things American Christians Must Do With Their Money

written by Jason Topp CFP®, CRPC® | Biblical Personal Finance

Did you know that the #Bible gives specific instructions on what to do with our money - and this article we address some of those commands that are for all of us American Christians -

Let’s face it. If you live in America, you are rich. Sure, there are exceptions like those who can’t afford food or shelter, but generally speaking, if you compare yourself to others around the world, you are filthy rich…

How To Create A Will In Less Than 10 Minutes And For FREE!

written by Bob Lotich, CEPF® | Managing Money

Do you know what happens if you die without a will in place? According to Forbes: "If you die intestate–meaning without a proper will or living trust–your assets will be divvied up according to the law in the state where you live... Some states have stuck to the traditional approach of giving a one-third share to the spouse, with the children dividing the rest. Others give spouses one-half. Mississippi gives an equal share to the surviving spouse and each child; if there are nine children, the spouse gets a measly one-tenth of the estate... Even if you have no kids, your spouse may not get everything; in some states, the deceased spouse’s parents, siblings, nieces or nephews and even more distant relatives receive a cut."

Well, if you didn’t know (and I am sure you didn’t), this month is National “Make-A-Will” month. And while I tend to think manufactured holidays and “months” like this are silly, in this case I think it is a good reminder for those who haven’t taken this critical and simple step. So today I am […]
